Will Pearson is known for his large-scale cityscape photography. He has been capturing the ever-changing London skyline for many years – a project he envisions will continue for decades to come.
Having been working as a professional photographer for over 20 years, increasingly his work has been focussed on exceedingly large-scale panoramic prints.
To date, the largest has been about 70 metres (230 feet) long. This was for a commercial space, but his print work is usually at least 1 to 3 metres wide. To Will, it’s not about scale for the sake of it, but about the ability to stand in front of a big image and truly lose yourself in it. From a distance, you see the beauty of the skyline or landscape. As you move closer towards it, the minutiae of the scene pulls you in and keeps you held in the moment.
Will started out on film and over the years has used a variety of DSLRs and medium format gear. He is currently shooting with Phase One IQ3 medium format cameras with Schneider lenses.
Will lives in North London with his wife and two young children.
